We are selective about fit rather than about attainment. There is no entrance examination below Year 7, and above it the assessment happens in the child's own classroom wherever the current school will let us.
How it goes
You visit
Tours run Tuesday and Thursday mornings in term time and one Saturday a month. You see an ordinary day, not a staged one.
You register
A short form and a £125 registration fee, deducted from your first invoice. This is not an application — it holds your place in the queue.
Your child spends a morning
Reception and below: a play session with their year group. Year 3 and above: a taster morning, and a short piece of written work in Year 7 and up.
We both decide
You hear from us within five working days, usually two. If we do not think Wrenfield is right for your child we will say so and tell you why.

Choose a year group and tick what applies. The figure is indicative, inclusive of the things schools usually bill separately, and is what we will quote you on a tour.

Fees are reviewed each April and quoted for the 2027/28 academic year. Bursaries of up to 100% are assessed on household income — eighteen per cent of families hold one. Nothing on this page is a contract.

The questions we are actually asked
Not below Year 7. From Year 7 there is a short piece of written work and a maths paper, both sat here on a taster morning. We are looking for a child who can be taught in a room of sixteen, not for a score.
Ask. Bursaries of up to one hundred per cent are assessed on household income and eighteen per cent of our families hold one. The conversation is confidential, it happens with the bursar rather than with a teacher, and it has no bearing on whether a place is offered.
Yes, subject to space in the year group. In-year admissions are the most common route into Primary and we can usually turn one around in three weeks.
Yes, and tell us early. Our SENCO is on staff rather than on contract and drafts a plan before a place is accepted, so you know what we can actually do before you commit.
Senior schools across Oxfordshire and further, both independent and maintained. Entrance preparation is included in fees, and the head writes every reference herself.
Lunch, breakfast, clubs to 5.15, outdoor kit, expeditions and one instrument lesson from Year 2 are all in it. Minibus, supervised prep, a second instrument and holiday club are not — they are the four options in the estimator above.
