Our approach
We are not doing anything new. We are doing the ordinary things carefully.
There is no proprietary method here and no acronym. What there is: small rooms, long lessons, subject specialists earlier than most, and enough adults that nobody is managing a crowd. Below is what that actually means on a Tuesday.
In four parts
Taught from the desk, not the front
Teachers sit and work beside pupils for most of a lesson. Direct instruction happens — phonics and number facts are taught explicitly and drilled — but the default posture is alongside. It is why our rooms sound busier than a silent classroom and quieter than a noisy one.
Lessons run 55 minutes through Primary and 70 in Middle School. Neither has changed in nine years.
